Drive to the Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of the city. Stop at Mount Zion to visit King David’s tomb, the Room of the Last Supper and the Dormition Abbey. 
Enter the Old City and walk through the Armenian and Jewish quarters to the recently excavated and restored Cardo, the Roman road. See the Western Wall (Wailing Wall), the Kotel, and continue to the Christian quarter. Walk along the Via Dolorosa and visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Proceed to the New City and visit Yad Vashem, the Memorial to the Holocaust. 
 
NOTE:
Modest dress code (no shorts or sleeveless shirts) required & head covering must be worn when visiting holy sites.
Entrance to the Holocaust Museum is not permitted for children under the age of 10.
On Saturdays and Jewish holidays, instead of Yad Vashem, drive to Ein Karem, southwest of Jerusalem; Stroll in the narrow lanes of the picturesque neighborhood stopping by Mary’s spring and continue to visit the remarkable Church of Saint John the Baptist.

Jericho and Bethlehem
(Full day tour – operates Mon, Wed & Sat 1 Mar – 28 Feb)
 
Depart for the Judean desert and enjoy a roadside view of the Good Samaritan Inn. After a short stop at the sea-level marker continue to Jericho – the oldest city in the world. Stop at Zacheus’ Sycamore tree and proceed to an overlook of the Mount of Temptation where Satan tried to tempt Jesus. Visit the Mount of ancient Jericho where 25 ancient cities were uncovered (cost of cable car not included). 
Drive to the city of Bethlehem. Visit the Church of Nativity and Manger Square, where Jesus was placed after his birth. Then visit the church of Milk Grotto and view Shepherds' Field. A quick stop for souvenirs will be made before returning to Jerusalem.
 
NOTE:
This tour is subject to Palestinian Authority regulations.
Crossing the border may require a short unaccompanied walking section before entering Palestinian Authority territory where you will meet your Palestinian guide and a change of vehicle will be required.

Masada and the Dead Sea

Drive via the Judean Hills to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Masada. Ascend by cable car and tour the mountain fortress built by King Herod, where the Zealots of the first century AD made their last stand against the Romans. Visit the remains of the walls, palaces, the synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors, Roman baths and other finds. Descend by cable car and continue to the Dead Sea. Enjoy the unique opportunity to "swim" and float in the Dead Sea, with its therapeutic effects.

Visit the Diaspora Museum. Drive through the main streets of Tel Aviv, the centre of business and entertainment in Israel. Stop at Rabin's square, the site of Prime Minister Itzhak Rabin’s assasination. Continue for a tour of Old Jaffa, an 8000 year old port city. Visit the ancient ruins and walk along the restored Artist's Quarter. Visit Neve Tzedek, the first neighbourhood of Tel Aviv which was built in 1887, and Nahalat Benyamin, the open air craft market with its musicians, handmade jewelery and other arts and crafts. Next, stop at Sheinkin, the lively and colourful street especially known for its unique shops, café life and youthful ambiance.

Biblical Highlights of the North

Drive via the coastal road through the landscape of lower Galilee, to Nazareth, the town where Jesus spent his childhood. Visit the Church of Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph. Continue via Cana and proceed to Tiberias. Drive along the Sea of Galilee to visit Capernaum and view the ruins of the ancient synagogue where Jesus taught. Continue to Tabgha, the site of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fish, located at the foot of the Golan Heights. Continue to the Yardenit Baptism site on the Jordan River.

Drive along the coastal road to Caesarea, the ancient Roman capital and port. Tour the ancient theatre and archaeological ruins and excavations. Continue to Haifa for a scenic view of the city, the port and the Baha’i Gardens. Then the tour will continue to Rosh Hanikra, where you will descend by cable car to the underwater grottos and admire this spectacular natural phenomenon. Then drive to the old city of Acre (Acco) which is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the market and see the mosque and the old port. Visit the Crusader stronghold and Turkish underground city and crypt.

Drive to Safed, the center of Jewish mysticism and the Kabala movement. Visit the ancient Caro and Ari synagogues and the Artists’ Colony. Continue to the Golan Heights. Stop at the Gadot overlook (Mitzpe Gadot), the memorial site for those that fell at Golan which is located over former Syrian bunkers. See the monument built on the site in honour of the Alexandroni brigade. Enjoy a panoramic view of the Hula Valley.

Descend to the Grotto of Nativity where a Silver Star in the floor marks the spot where Christ is believed to have been born. Then proceed to the church of Milk Grotto. Stop at a local souvenir store before returning to Jerusalem. 
In Jerusalem the tour ends and one will be dropped off at a central location from where one has to make one’s own way back to the hotel.

Petra Tour

Depart from your Eilat hotel at approximately 07h00 and drive to the border. After crossing the border, drive to Petra along the desert highway. The astonishing rose-red city of Petra was built by the Nabateans (an early Arab Tribe) who settled in southern Jordan more than two thousand years ago. The visit begins with a horseback-ride (or walk) for about 700 meters to the entrance of the "Siq", and then continue through the Siq on foot (approximately 1.2 km walking distance). Petra is famous for its huge monuments such as the Treasury, Royal tombs, the Court, Roman Theatre, Roman Street, Qassier El – Bint (Palace of Pharaoh’s daughter) and many other smaller monuments. After the visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and drive back to the Border. A quick stop will be made in Aqaba before returning to Eilat, arriving approximately 18h00.  (L)
