ITINERARY
THURSDAY:  Welcome to the Holy Land!

·         Arrive Ben Gurion Airport, transfer to hotel.
Overnight in Tel Aviv or Netanya. 
 

FRIDAY:  Tel Aviv - Caesarea - Megiddo
·         Travel with our guide from your hotel to the city of Jaffa (Joppa) and walk in the picturesque alleys of this old fortified town. Pass by the house of Simon the Tanner and recall Peter’s vision.
·         Travel north along the coast to Caesarea, and see the famous aqueduct and visit the Roman Theater; Caesarea was the capital of Judea under the Romans.
·         Next, visit Megiddo – the site of Armageddon according to the book of Revelations. See Megiddo’s well-preserved water supply system as well as other archaeological excavations.
·         Drive towards the Sea of Galilee and Tiberias.

SATURDAY:  Tiberias - Capernaum - Golan Heights
·         Explore Capernaum, Jesus’ home during the years of his ministry. Visit the remains of the 2nd century synagogue.
·         Then visit Tabgha, the site of the miracle of fish and loaves. See the 4th century mosaic floor at the Church of Multiplication.
·         Drive on to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus preached the “Sermon on the Mount”.
·         Ascend to the Golan Heights for the magnificent panoramic view of the peaks of Mt. Hermon and the rugged plateau of the Golan Heights.

SUNDAY:  Cana - Nazareth - Beit Shean - Jerusalem
·         Travel to Cana to visit the Wedding Church where Jesus performed his first miracle and turned water into wine.
·         Proceed to Nazareth, where Jesus spent his childhood.
·         Visit the Church of Annunciation on the site where archaeologists believe the Archangel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary.
·         See Mary’s Well and Joseph’s Church.
·         Travel along the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean, one of the world’s largest and most impressive archaeological sites.
·         Travel along the Jordan River to Jerusalem.

MONDAY:  Dead Sea – Masada - Qumran
·         Drive to Masada, via the amazing scenery of the Dead Sea.  Ascend by cable car to the fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans.
·         See the site of the Qumran Caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.
·         The Dead Sea is the lowest point on the earth’s surface, almost 1,300 feet below sea level. Weather permitting, “float” on the salty, mineral rich water, so bring your swimsuit!

TUESDAY:  Jerusalem - Old City
·         Enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of Jerusalem from Mt. Scopus.
·         Visit the Mount of Olives, which was so important during the last week of Jesus’ life.
·         See the Garden of Gethsemane where Judas betrayed Jesus.
·         See the Western Wall and the Temple Mount (site of the Second Temple) as we enter the Old City from the Cardo.
·         Walk the Via Dolorosa, the Way of the Cross, to Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which is both the traditional site of Crucifixion and the Tomb of the Resurrection.
·         See Mount Zion, the traditional tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper.

WEDNESDAY:  Jerusalem - Ein Karem - Bethlehem
·         Visit Yad Vashem, the official memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust, located on the foot of Mt. Herzl.
·         Drive through the picturesque village of Ein Karem on the south-western outskirts of Jerusalem.
·         Visit the Israel Museum with its detailed model of Jerusalem from the time of the Second Temple and the Shrine of the Book, housing the Dead Sea Scrolls.
·         Drive by the Knesset (Israel’s House of Parliament) and the campus of the renowned Hebrew University.
·         In *Bethlehem, see Rachel’s Tomb and the Church of the Nativity.
