Enchanting Essaouira
(Full day tour – min 2 persons)

Depart from your hotel to the Atlantic coast and the ancient Phoenician town of Mogador, named for a corruption of the Berber word Amegdul which translates to ‘well-protected’, which was renamed to Essaouira ‘Little Picture’ when Morocco gained independence. The city was abandoned by the Portuguese in 1541 and then fortified in 1765 by Mohammad Ibn Abdullah. Explore the narrow alleyways which make up the Medina and see its many artisans doing what they do best whilst making use of mother of pearl, a purple dye made from crushed shellfish which the Romans used to colour the togas of their rich. Time at leisure to further explore the city, have lunch (not included), or perhaps take an optional (not included) camel ride along the beach. Return to your hotel in the evening.

Fantasia Tagine dinner and Moroccan Folklore Evening
(Evening tour with oriental show – min 2 persons)

Transfer to a spectacular ‘Ches Ali’ restaurant where a spectacle along the lines of 1001 Arabian Nights has been crafted for you. Enjoy a sumptuous meal of authentic Moroccan food (set menu) whilst traditional musicians, singers, acrobats and dancers entertain you. Return to your hotel.

Hot air ballooning over Morocco’s Western High Atlas Mountains
(Morning flights – min 2 persons – max 5 persons – departs daily except during July & August)

Early morning pick up, between 5:30 and 6:30 according to the season.  The balloon is prepared for flight, board your gondola and ‘cast off’ – the magical moment arrives as you rise vertically towards the Moroccan heavens. The landing site is established by the pilot, chase vehicle and ground crew. One you have landed and collapsed and stored the balloon, join your 4x4 vehicle and tour of some of the Berber villages you have over-flown.  Enjoy some mint tea, Moroccan pastries or fresh bread dipped in olive oil, in the home of one of the Berber inhabitants.  Return to hotel in Marrakech around midday.
